Have you ever wished you knew more about wine? Knew more about what those labels really mean? Knew more about how to taste wine properly, or how wine is actually made?
Well, The Clifton Cellars now offer wine courses, held either here at the shop, for those who live nearby, or as home-study for those who are further afield. We can even arrange for you to study on-line!
The courses follow a syllabus that takes you through all aspects of wine tasting and making, and looks at the individual wine regions of the world’s quality wine producing countries. They are aimed at people who are not in the trade but who want to learn more about this fascinating subject and who want to be more confident when buying and drinking wine.
The first course is a single evening session of 2 hours that covers the basics of wine and how to taste it. Click here for the syllabus. The cost is £25.00 which includes all the notes and the wines for tasting. Please note a course will only run when there are a minimum number of people booked onto it – usually 6.
The second course consists of 2 sessions and this one goes into much more detail about wine and wine-tasting than the first one. More complex wines are tasted and the topic of food and wine is introduced.Click here for the syllabus. The cost is £50.00 which again includes all the notes and the wines for tasting. Again we need about 6 people booked onto this course to run it.
The third course is a longer one of 8 sessions that goes into a lot more detail about wine producing countries. Click here for this syllabus. The cost for this course is £150 which includes all notes and wines.
